I wanted to pop in and show you guys what's been consuming every second of my free time lately. I finished my Ikea mirrors, and moved on to re-staining the giant curio cabinet in our living room. It's definitely been a labor of love, but I am so pleased with how it's turning out, and I'm really glad I decided to keep this piece.
This is what it looked like in good lighting-
And now- waiting for the stain to dry!
I spent close to 6 hours sanding, and about 2-3 hours staining. I think I'm pretty happy with the color, so all it needs is a clear coat of poly, and it's done!
And in other news- I've got Cameron's one year pictures that I can't wait to share- they just need a little editing (he was drooling during the entire shoot!) and then I'll post 'em here. Take care!

And I love a good drool shot!
I am happy that I clicked over to your blog today--Blogger is being stupid and says that you hadn't had any new posts in weeks, but it LIES.
Can't wait to see the finished projects! And Cameron's one year pictures. I'm sure they are adorable.
Oh my goodness, I cannot wait to see the finished product! I can tell it's going to look awesome. What a great way to reinvent that piece.
Oooooh, I can't wait for the reveal!! That dark stain looks beautiful! Props to you for staining instead of painting:) Hmm, I can't wait to see Cam's pics either;)
Meredith- heehee its been over a week. Blogger may not be lying! =)
And Sarah- I've always preferred stain over paint. I think it looks better in most cases!
