Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my birthday! And just how will I be celebrating 25 years of existence, you might ask? Well, my day started at 4:30 am, when my son wanted to wake up and and wish me a happy birthday. Haven't slept a wink since. I had waffles and mimosas for breakfast, and will probably hit up Sonic drive-thru for lunch. Then, we'll probably cap off the eventful day with a trip to Target for some groceries. Exciting times, eh?  As I get older, birthdays become less and less exciting, but as each year passes I seem to have more and more to look forward to! As I sit here on a unseasonably warm, sunny day, listening to my son snore loudly, and my husband catering to every need, I realize that this is the life! It took 25 years to get to this blissfully happy point in my life, but it was well worth the wait.

A few pictures!

I have been horrible about updating with pictures! A certain little someone doesn't allow much time for me to get on the computer... =) Anywhoo, here are a few pictures taken over the past week or so- he is getting so big and heavy! At his first appointment (10 days old) he weighed 10 lbs (up from 9 lbs 8 oz at birth), and was still 22 inches! I wouldn't be surprised if I weighed him today if he were 10 1/2 lbs; it's quite the workout to lug him around! I am doing really well, my incision scar is almost completely healed, and I've lost 30 lbs (of the 42-ish lbs I gained) in just 3 weeks! Cameron sleeps very well (most nights) and is a very good baby! He's pretty cute too, if I do say so myself! Enjoy!

This was supposed to be Cameron's Christmas outfit. I put it on him to take a few pictures the other day, and it's too small. When I bought it I was worried that the 3 month size would be too large, but his feet are practically ripping out the seams at the bottom.  Too bad, he sure does look handsome!!

I hope to get a lot of pictures at Christmas... hopefully it won't be so long before an update!

Lots of pictures...

Here's some pictures we took during our super-fun extended hospital stay. Birth story still to come when I have an extra hand free up. Enjoy! =)

Ready to go... little did I know I still had 2 days before I'd meet my son! And yes, I'm completely aware that I have 3 chins.

Dad is ready to go too.

Just the two of us...

And he's out!

Look how big he is!

9 lbs. 8oz.

I love this little guy.

Just the three of us. I love Jon's facial expression in this picture.

You can tell he's just got the biggest smile under his mask!

Such a priceless picture.

I look completely exhausted, huh?

Cameron's first diaper change. I warned and prepared Jon about what newborn poops look like. I might have failed to mention how MUCH poop there would be. He thought he'd step up to the plate and attempt the first change; but his jaw dropped to the floor when he unveiled the contents. It definitely took both of us to change this one! He was the "leg holder."

My niece, Corinne
My sister, brother in law, and niece Audra (3 months). I think Cameron will catch up to her in no time at all!

Cameron is here!!

I know you guys have been waiting to hear news... well he is finally here! He is so perfect and beautiful- definitely worth the wait. Jon and I are blessed and are just in awe of him. I am typing this message with one hand as I hold him in the other, so here's the quick stats:
Birth: December 5, 10:30 pm
Weight: 9lbs. 8oz. Literally shocked the crap out of me. I had no idea he would be so big.
Length: 22 inches. Tall, just like daddy!
Cameron was born via c-section after 2 days of an unsuccessful induction. We were in the hospital for 5 days (due to the days spent inducing and then having the c-section), and we just got home today! I'm doing extremely well with recovery. I will post the whole birth story and pictures VERY soon, but I'll leave you with a quick picture from my iPhone (I'm getting good at this one handed stuff).

Thanks to everyone who was praying for Cameron's arrival!
