Things I'm excited about!

  1. So I ordered a spankin' new camera today! Months ago, I blogged about wanting a new SLR camera, and the time has come. I got a Nikon D40 and I'm so excited about it! I hope to get really great at by the time the baby arrives (yikes- in just 6 months!).

2. We booked our trip to Chicago! Jon's cousin is getting married there at the end of the month and we'll also spend a few days exploring what Chi-town has to offer. Originally we were going to make it a road trip, but after our Colorado excursion, I nixed the idea. I could never seem to coordinate my need to go to the bathroom with gas stops, so we were stopping every. single. hour. This way we'll be there in just under two hours, and no airport layovers. If you know of any restaurant recommendations or must-see sites, let me know!

Hey Leslie! Chicago is amazing. If you like art, you should definitely check out the Chicago Institute of Art. It's an AWESOME museum. Other than that, the boat tour of the city's architecture is really cool, too. :-) Love the blog, and I can't wait to see your pictures from the new camera!

I am so so so jealous of you! I want a D-SLR so badly, I got the okay to spend my Target bonus on one . . . which was a whole $100. :(

Enjoy Chicago! It's so much fun!

Where will you be staying?? I live in Chicago and could give you all sorts of recommendations! Most of my favorites are around the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area...definitely more affordable than most of the places downtown. Mexican: Cesar's (Clark and Belmont or Broadway and Surf). Italian: Sapori (Halsted in between Wrightwood and Diversey). Cupcakes: Sweet Mandy B'S (seriously heaven on earth!) on Webster at Racine. I know you probably can't eat sushi because of the baby, but there are some cooked options at this amazing sushi place called Coast, on Damen Street. Feel free to email me for other recommendations at cvannahmen at gmail dot com. Have fun!!

Hey little mama! I already commented on this entry, but that's OK. I wanted to let you know that you have been "tagged", meaning you should post 10 things about yourself and then tag 2 others to do the same. :-)
