Snippets.

By now you know I've always got a slew of projects going on at any given time around my house. Here's a little sneak at one I'm currently working on:
Nursery artwork for a girl from The Nest who requested monkeys. I am absolutely loving how these are coming along! After I complete these and ship them off to her, I have baby shower invites to do for my sister in law, and also wedding invites for my friend, both of which I want to have completed before we leave for Washington next month. It's shaping up to be a busy month for me!

A few days ago we went to a wildlife park where you can feed and pet almost all the animals. We all loved it! It was such a treat away from a regular zoo; at every station there were knowledgeable staff who knew everything about each of the animals. It was really neat! Among my favorites were the lemurs, zebras (couldn't pet these!), kangaroos, and all the tiny baby leopards that they had in the nurseries.

I'm so glad summer is almost over. I'm ready for Sunday football, apple spice cookie bars, crisp, cool weather, and the return of Desperate Housewives. A trip to the pumpkin patch. Hair that doesn't resemble an afro. Our first family trip! Starbucks seasonal billion-calorie drinks. I love fall!

Saturday we snuck out for a date and saw The Perfect Getaway. We wanted to see it mainly because it took place on the island of Kauai, where we went on our honeymoon.
It's a thriller movie and is shot along Kauai's arduous 11 mile Kalaulau trail to the NaPali coastline. I thought the movie was good, and definitely had an unexpected ending. Despite the murders that take place, that 22 mile (round trip) hike is still on my Bucket List (my to-do list before I kick the bucket).
Anyone have a bucket list? What's on it?

Leslie, you are so talented. I love the artwork you do!

I'm dying for Fall as well (Desperate Housewives! One more reason I can't wait for September!) and my mom just gave me a gift card to Starbucks, which I'm saving for the yummy billion calorie Fall treats. :)

The monkey is adorable, I love it.

I can't wait for Fall either, I'm counting down the days...

Oh my, the artwork is fantastic! Do you take orders? :)

I am counting down the days until fall as well, hubby and I were just talking about that this morning! Fall is my favorite time of the year, that's for sure.

As for the bucket list, I haven't done one of those yet, I'm still working on my 101 in 1001 list! I suppose the bucket list will be next!

Mrs.LifeAccounts- yes I can take orders! I'm giving her the original artwork, but plan on creating copies to make prints and sell.
I can do other artwork as well, if you'd like. Just let me know!

love the monkey! It's not on a bucket list, per se, but I want to be a contestant on either Jeopardy! or Who wants to be a Millionaire? before I die. I'd take deal or no deal too though.

One of the things on my bucket list would be to go backpacking through Europe.

Love the monkeys! Might want to get some prints from you! Trying to figure out what to decorate my son's new room in! I'll let you know! Awesome work!

Those monkeys look awesome!

We have a similar zoo, but you can't pet the animals, just feed them.

I also love Fall and can't wait for pumpkins and all things I love. :)

That movie sounds good. I have been wanting to see a thriller/scary movie.

Hi Leslie, I'm definitely going to have you make some things! I've been in love with your drawings from back when you posted the animal drawings you did for your son's nursery!

Love your blog! I also saw and liked The Perfect Getaway. I was expecting it to be another lame slasher film (Turistas, anyone?), but I really enjoyed the acting and the twist at the end. I have a 101 in 1001 list on my blog. I don't think I have anything as ambitious as your goal on my list, though!!
